You can check out the pics, and maybe have a go at one yourself here….

Here’s a peek at a surfboard fin I have designed in conjunction with Loose-fit.
You can buy them here in a couple of weeks time.
The artwork is meticulously silk-screen printed onto finest Japanese Kyoto rice paper. This is then carefully laid and glassed into the middle of the fin. The rice paper is so thin, that it literally melts away leaving the ink of the design floating in the centre of the fin.
Each fin is made by hand, one at a time. Layer after layer of glass cloth and coloured with resin pigments. It is then cut to shape and hand foiled to give the curves and sweeps in all the right places before being polished and buffed to a glass like finish.

Pete Tonks, in association with Potton has recently launched a very affordable range of studios for those of us who are after an improved balance of work & home life.
They were successfully launched at this year’s Grand Designs, with Kevin McCloud being very impressed.
Zone by Potton is a range of stylish, contemporary garden studios that not only look amazing but are great to work in, surprisingly affordable and can be built in a matter of days. For those that prefer less work and more play, Zone spaces make ideal playrooms, studios, rehearsal rooms and games rooms. What is more, thanks to a range of green technologies available from Potton’s parent Kingspan, they can be eco-friendly and cheap to run too.

Going to be shaping one of these beautiful Alaia surfboards in a couple of weeks, courtesy of Loose-fit, who have imported the paulownia wood blanks from New Zealand.
The one pictured is shaped by Gabe Steptoe, isn’t it a beauty!
